vindication
Hahahaha...I'm currently on "vacation"...and in my newfound "spare time" I'm trying to clean off my desktop of notes I've scribbled down in passing but never posted...this one dated back to the beginning of June:
Today was awesome...just for the record.
Out of the darkness of discouragement, came a shard of light.
A breath of answered prayer.
A reminder of the presence of God in a broken world.
I don't know about you, but lately it's been feeling like the other side is winning.
I was growing weary from throwing punches through prayer.
Driving down streets that seemed unchanged.
Watching families disintegrate.
The sick take turns for the worst.
Every morning caught me looking at my face in the mirror and wondering if I was being effective.
This morning in church, as I am prone to do, I was asking God for some heads up!
Some sort of answer from heaven that would make sense of the madness.
He loves speaking to his children, just so ya know...
and the word He spoke was vindication.
"O storm-battered city, troubled and desolate!
I will rebuild you with precious jewels...
I will teach your children and they will enjoy great peace.
You will be secure under a government that is just and fair.
Your enemies will stay far away.
You will live in peace,
and terror will not come near...
Whoever attacks you will go down in defeat...
No weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord;
their vindication will come from Me.
I, the Lord, have spoken."
